Poker Strategy - Detecting and Setting Traps

One of the less understood poker strategies is that of trapping. When playing poker, how many times have you been trapped by a more experienced or tricky player? We all fall into these traps from time to time... but why? How can we detect traps and avoid them? This article delves into poker strategy keys for setting traps, and detecting them.

Strip Poker

Is gambling better than sex? Some people equate money to power. Money can give you a lot of power. But it can also strip you of the power if you lose it. Some gamblers would rather gamble than have sex. Not me, I want it all.

The History of Poker

Poker is basically a five-card game, where players bet on who holds the best card combination. The best card hand will of course win the pot money. Often played with many players, each player will have to either bet, raise the stakes if they feel that the hands they are dealt with are good or fold if they feel that another player’s hand is better.

The origin of the name Poker is still unclear. Many say that the name came from the French game Poque or the German game pochspiel. Others claim that it came from a Hindu word while others believe it to have evolved from the term hocus pocus.

Understanding Omaha Poker

Omaha poker is very much similar to another type of poker, the Texas Holdem. The player must also create a five-card poker hand both from the pocket cards and the community cards. A deck of 5-cards is used in this type of poker game.

About ten people can play the game.

Omaha poker, however, is different in the number of faced-down pocket cards that each player is given by the dealer. In Omaha, players are dealt with four cards as opposed to the two cards in Texas Holdem.
